This lizard with the very long name is one of the very colorful members of its genus. These lizards are known for their display, used to warn off rivals entering their territory and to impress females. The display consists of the male lowering and raising his head and upper body by flexing and extending his front legs. The display does indeed look like the lizard is doing push ups! Here is one male caught in mid-display, showing of his impressive colors.
