I was actually at a local dam hoping the swallows or osprey were active. They werent, but while waiting to see if anything would happen this male Blue Grosbeak landed nearby for a minute before taking off and flying past me.

Really nice, I know how hard it is to get small birds in flight. Terrific.

The Z9 with the 800mm PF make possible images that would otherwise be too small or missed altogether. I only get the black headed grosbeaks at my house but do have 4 adults and a few new chicks at the present time. Their song is my favorite and very nice to wake up to in the morning.
