You have to enable a setting but now you get it embedded in your RAW and the adjustment slider is there. You don't have to commit to it. This is really helpful and will fit it the @Steve workflow quite nicely. This feature is NOT yet in LRc.
Adobe also has a new profile called Adaptive which Blake Rudis says is similar to his tonal sculpting and he recommends it for wildlife and landscapes.
Also remember the AI features - generative remove and fill don't match the noise and detail profiles so be careful where you use them.
