I found the video thought-provoking and it got me looking into the HDR settings in my Nikon D780. I had never used it before and realized it is a good method for making sure that you are getting a good exposure for the shadows. You can set it to take one NEF which has 3 exposures combined (from different shutters speeds when using M) or set it to have all the exposures as separate NEF files. All three exposures are taken almost instantly. If you save the separate exposures you could use LR to combine them. I haven't tried that so I don't know if the results would be different from the composite NEF in the camera.

Even at 10fps, framing changes enough between shots handheld or on monopod to make this method very challenging to implement. On tripod it will likely work if the subject is absolutely immobile. That's the issue with wildlife, it moves ;)

My camera only makes jpegs for the in camera HDR, so a nef is a nice feature. Lightroom can do it automatically from any number of raw files though, no big deal. It can even do hdr panorama. If the subject is moving, In photoshop if you have shot the identical background with no subject it is not difficuly to place the subject in the background or replace the sky, etc.
