My wife and I are traveling to France next week to shoot the white horses of the Camargue. I will be shooting a Z9, and not having shot horses before, I am wondering what the group recommends for AF settings. Basic plan is Wide Area Large with animal subject detection. Suggestions?

I photo polo matches, (four last weekend) and have for years - and my way is single point. Eye, animal an so on detection just goes nuts jumping all over the place. Your steeds will be further distance, likely your basic plan is spot on

Thank you! Unfortunately I believe one of the shoots will be the horses running right at you and actually going on either side. They will be close!
