I'm very interested in setting up a few (non cellular) trail cams on my Canadian property, just to see what wildlife visits when I'm not around, and would appreciate know what experience you may have with them. My interests are primarily casual - I'd like to capture reasonably good quality still images (and maybe a few short video clips) but I have no illusions that the quality will be stellar. I realize that there are a number of fine, higher end, options out there, but I don't want to invest a small fortune in trying to achieve professional results, as some photographers do. A couple years ago I ago I installed a $100 Browning trail cam on site, and enjoyed seeing the few foxes, coyotes, skunks, raccoons, tons of deer, and one neighborhood cat that sauntered by. That cam finally bit the dust, so want to see if there might be better quality, affordable options available today. Also interested in learning what suggestions and tips you may have about placement.
Many thanks!
