These are some American Bittern shots I've taken through the years. The fight shot was taken this morning.

I got some great American bittern shots 5 years ago when there were two males competing for a solitary female. Afterwards I realize my error in not shooting any video of the males with their neck enlargement and unique gurgling sounds. With the widespread destruction of wetlands for big ag these birds are on the decline in the west and I have been unable to find them at all during their breeding season.
