Very nice image. These guys are scarce and I've had one on my wishlist for a while now.

There are a lot of them around here.
I do see them here occasionally but they are not nearly as abundant as the other hawks like the Red-tailed and Coopers hawks. Perhaps I also miss them because they're so small.

Find a field with some cows or any field that attracts mice. You should find plenty of them.

This one was just in a field that cows are let out in to graze occasionally, no corn, just grass and a few dead trees scattered here and there. There is a farm across the road that rotates between soy beans and corn. We get all kinds of birds hunting this field. Owls, eagles, Redtails, Harriers, Peregrine Falcons. It is one of my favorite places to go shoot.
