Any experience with Tragopan V7 hide?

Hi,

I need a new hide for my garden and other places.
I found some videos showing the Tragopan V7 and in looks interesting.

Does anyone own and use this hide? How stable are the legs? I will probably set it up and take it down regularly to move it to another place and also because I won't leave it in the garden for long because I live at the edge of a village and we often have strong winds during winter.
For almost 300 Euros I expect the hide to last for many years, so I am mostly interesting in how robust it is.

Any feedback would be welcome.

I haven't seen the v7 in person, but I have a Tragopan grouse and some other products of theirs, and I have to say they are extremely well built and well thought out. I have made various hide setups out of hunting materials and other stuff, but the photography-specific design of the Tragopan products is totally a cut above in terms of effectiveness, portability, and simplicity.

Thanks. The Grouse model also looks interesting and is cheaper.

I have the older version, which was very frustrating because the lens port wasn't big enough for a 600 f4 lens. I didn't get much satisfaction from their customer service. I looks like there is a new version with a larger port. Otherwise, it seems well made and is pretty easy to put up and take down.

I think the grouse is more of an entry level, and the v6 and newer v7 are more "full featured". The grouse is a "pop up" style, which can be kind of a pain to put away when your day is done, but it's not a big deal.

I have the V7. It's a great hide, easy to put up and down, although you have to be careful how you fold the legs at first. It's very well thought out with all the viewing windows, how the mesh screens fit , the adjustable legs etc. It's not the biggest of hide, I'm 6ft and its cosy. The height of the windows play an important part of what seat you use. I have the Tragopan seat and it's designed for it. However if I'm doing a long session I take my fishing chair for comfort. It's a tight fit but once in it's ok.

The photo shows the Tragopan blanket over the top, I don't usually need this blanket but I have a Buzzard at 10m away and with this bird being very cautious it's just an extra help. This is one of our hardest birds ( UK ) to get close to so it shows how good the hide is.
Any more info please askIMG_8116.jpg

When I do an overnighter with the Tawney Owl it often sits on the hide roof. Any more info please ask

Thanks, very useful. I haven't thought about the seat yet, I'll probably get the one you mentioned.

I am 189cm (I guess about 6ft). That should be okay I hope. Windows look big enough for my 4/600.

This shows the additional canopy. Not used it yet but will as it gets colder. The window is open with the main cover wound up. You can then clip on the camo mesh cover.
