Just some variety... I'm and evolutionary biologist and ecologist and simply love transitional species that exhibit adaptations that reflect the past, present, and point to the future.

Just LOVE those see-otters!, and the other one too! Seal is lovely, but it is not an otter - I'm sure you understand!

Thanks!... Yup... I love mustelids and otters are among my favorite. Covid got in the way of my sea otter/bobcat trip last March... gonna try again in 2021. The river otter (pic #1) was a total surprise, as it showed up at the beaver pond where I have been documenting beaver behaviors since 2015. I have images of it crawling out on the beaver lodge and rolling around in the debris.

Thank you very much... I was in a kayak photographing the sea otter, and lying flat on the beaver-made damn to photograph the river otter and beaver. As for the harbor seal, well I was in a zodiac and the lens was resting on the inflated floats.
