First shot is last night (June 20, 2023) and next three are this morning (June 21, 2023). All taken at Sweetwater Wetlands in Tucson, USA.
I have recently started shooting with the LCD screen (instead of viewfinder) for ground level shots. So nice for small creatures like this.

Nice set, good looking grd. lev. shots. The last shot is my favorite. I've tried a few with birds in shallow water and it makes a difference but I'm afraid I will get the camera too low and get it wet so I'm just going to wear swim trunks and sit down in the water. That should get me low enough.

Nice shots. Gorgeous little rodent! I was dismissive of having the flippable LCD when I got the Z9 (thought it would make the camera less robust -- and ironically mine did break, but I digress) but I use it a lot in the way you mention; gets me shots not possible any other way (e.g. when there's no room to even think about getting on my belly and pressing half my face into the muck to get my eye to the viewfinder; then there's the growing issue of my inability to easily get back up LOL).
