Steve’s book Secrets To Stunning Wildlife Photography has a great section on backgrounds and how they can make or break an image, but that’s not the only detail to watch for. We’ve all taken shots that have absolutely nailed it only to find back at home some ghastly detail we’d completely missed and with just a little effort could have avoided. Here’s a water buck I did for a B&W head shot series I was working on. If I’d waited to get his other side I’d avoided the damaged nostril and also had a better alignment of the horns. That’s one from my vast catalogue of blunders. Anyone else wants to put up their “oops, missed that” shots?
