Was getting ready to go to work seven years ago; noticed two "alpha dogs" across the street; grabbed my D300, hid behind the neighbor's a/c unit and shot away. Was about 100 feet from them; they were snacking on a deer carcass. Every time I took a shot, their heads would snap to attention, they could not locate the source of the noise. They could not smell me either because I had what wind there was in my face. Only lens available at the time was a Nikon 18-200 DX VR. Look closely at this image, the 'yote has its ears pinned back in what looked to be a show of aggression???
