I was very lucky to capture the images of this Australian Hobby as it was a bright overcast afternoon and my camera set to auto ISO kept underexposing. A quick plus two stops of exposure compensation managed to properly expose the bird on its perch and as it launched itself to hunt. This raptor is often called the Little Falcon as it is very similar to the Peregrine Falcon which is present on most continents including Ozz. The Australian Hobby however as its name suggests is only present Down Under. It is a smaller Falcon than the Peregrine and not quite as fast but fast enough none the less. It mainly feeds on small birds and insects.
