Nothing too special with this picture, more the colour of the water... I reckon there was less than five mins of this colour yesterday afternoon, just magic.

Nice I like the color! I might have composed it so it wasn't so tight in the frame
Thanks Gordan, unfortunately i had the prime on that day. Got what i could when the pelican turned side on, went for a second/better go and he started swimming away and the light started changing. To be honest i wasn't even happy with the angle i shot at really... always next time

trust me I get it... we've all been there!
 
Thanks Dean. Took a look at some of the images on Google maps. In between the usual trash shots of peoples dogs and BBQ's, there's some nice pictures that tell a good story and obviously the council has devoted considerable time and $$$ to making it a beautiful area. Certainly didn't have nice parks like that when I was living in West End in the early 70's.

After the 2010/11 floods the council took the opportunity to cash in on state and federal grants and spent an insane amount of money upgrading that park... it's lit up like a football field of a night time which you have to wonder what that does for the wildlife, pre floods we seen Platypus there.
