Automatic Stand-by Release?

It would be great if Standby was automatically released when I put my eye to the viewfinder but it appears that the only ways to release the timer is to tap the shutter release or turn the power knob.
 
I guess it would have to monitor the eyepiece if it did that, so it wouldn't be full standby. It would be drawing power to check the little eye sensor all the time. It makes sense to trigger from a button press since you need a finger or thumb on a button to shoot.
 
I know on my camera I set power off different from standby. I keep power off at 30 minutes of no use so it remembers my settings but standby at 5 min of no use.
