Really beautiful shot. Love the use of silhouette. My only suggestion would be to fix the slight horizon tilt.
Very interesting composition. I would clean up all the spots in the sky and along the horizon as they are distracting and take attention away from the subject.

I would crop it differently. For me, I'd take a bunch off the bottom where there's not much visual interest and some off the sides and top to balance the composition. This edit focuses the eye more on the avocet. I also used curves to lower the darks and lights. Sorry, forgot to remove distracting spots.
