B&H has a sale on the Delkin Black 4.0 CFExpress 1.3TB cards regularly 899.99 on sale for $489.99. This card is too big for my use, but for anyone interested here is the link: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/deals-promotions-coupons They are currently closed until tomorrow afternoon/evening, but I think you can order even if you can't finalize the sale until then.

You're right, that card is selling at a great price for those who need it. Checkout is unavailable during the Jewish Sabbath. They'll be open again at 5:45 pm on Saturday.

I bought 2 of those for my Z8s before Tanzania last April…and while I carry 6 or so 150-200 GB cards as extras…I just don’t worry about card capacity anymore. I still backup cards daily…but don’t erase them until after I get home get them into LR, and verify both my local and BackBlaze backups have them. We had a lady in TZ that used a half dozen 128GB cards with her A1 daily…backing up and erasing nightly…and I just don’t understand that approach for a person with 2 A1s and a 600/4 lens…with that many $$ PF gear why cheap out on memory cards.

Some people worry about catastrophic card failure so they tend use many cards with smaller capacity instead a few cards with larger capacity. Long ago I gave up worrying about that. I use 650Gb and 1.3Tb cards.

True..
but as long as you backup the images every night fter. Shooting day and don’t format the cards…a big card isn’t any more likely to fail than a small one.

Thanks for the heads up. In terms of sustained write speed; how do these c/w older 325GB Delkin Blacks on a v2.0 device, anyone?

I always wondered the probability of which was greater - physically losing a memory card because you have a large number of them or having a large card fail? I suspect the former may be greater than the latter, but that is only a guess. Nonetheless, it rarely comes up in discussions about losing images while on the road.

afaik, they’re basically the same. i haven’t done any careful tests, but basically in he*, buffer is very close to unrestricted, both with this, the other delkin black and basically any high end, high performance oriented card

I’ve never bothered to do any scientific tests…but this card in my Z8 at RAW lossless compressed basically gives me a bottomless buffer…listening to the shutter sound there is an occasional slight burp in the frame rate but anything up to 10 seconds or so it doesn’t happen. And even the burps are more of a tenth of a second stutter before it goes right back to 20 FPS.

I have a 1tb card and 2 512s. I download each night but don’t always format as they are big enough to go a few days. A 1.3tb card would be great, I worry about so much data in one place so I would still download.
