Back Button Focusing

VR stays active as long as the meter does. Once the camera goes into standby, VR shuts off. Keep a half-press on the shutter release if you need to keep your finger off the AF-On button (i.e. you've locked focus). Note you can increase the standby time in the Custom Settings too.
