After a long afternoon and fairly unproductive game drive this week where there wasn't too much of note as the critters and our luck had maxed out in what was an absolutely spectacular mornings drive, this cheeky chap turned up as we headed back to camp. It always turns out like that, i.e. interesting things appear as you head back to camp or as you head to the airstrip.

Light was low and after a little manoeuvring I managed to grab this shot as he was attempting to woo his mate (hence the puffed out chest), The Kori bustard is the largest flying bird native to Africa and can weigh between 7-15kg. You can see why the wingspan is so impressive.
