Still had to crop a good bit, but this is easily the best picture of a kingfisher I've gotten so far. The water drops flying off as she landed added a nice touch (though some specks are gnats). Any comments/suggestions welcome. Hopefully I can find a spot a little closer to the perch to hide and wait.

Simply beautiful! Love the lighting, background and the water droplets add so much! The perch is a little dominating, but it still works fine. Exposure and details are spot on. If only the bird’s left wing was outstretched as well….

Nice Joe! These guys never seem to be where you want them to be. Every time i think i’m in the right location they pick a spot where the light sucks. I just keep going back for the ultimate shot whatever it may be. I thought i had one today but the light was not at a very good angle. I have not had a chance to process yet so i’m keeping my fingers crossed. Well done.👍👍

Thanks for the kind words. There was a shot as she was coming in where I really liked the pose, but she hadn't come into focus yet. Still pretty happy with this one!

Thanks Ralph. Not very cooperative critters, are they?
