Today this Coppers Hawk spent some time in my backyard (01/10/21)looking for a meal. He or she did have succes. Appeared to be very comfortable with me shooting photos. Nikon D500 & 500 PF

Very nice, Ralph. I'm almost envious of these shots. I have a forest behind my house with its own resident Cooper's hawk. Once in a while it comes closer to the back fence to hunt some of the birds at my feeder but as soon as the hawk approaches the little ones scatter. The hawk is not tame enough to allow me to get a decent shot. Always in the foliage and it disappears when I come closer.

Thanks Rassie

It was an immature hawk so I think that is the reason he was so accommodating. But it was fun. After the issue with my autofocus the day before it was nice to see the camera working properly again. Still have to clean the contacts.
