Nice shot! Since you put in for critique I'll give some picky notes, only my opinion of course. I would like more headroom above the insect, would be more balanced in my view. To my eye cutting the corners with the diagonal draws the eye to the corner, where if the diagonal is elsewhere it is more a leading line to the area of interest. I would like more detail in the blacks of the insect body, if the raw file has anything to give.
As I said, looking for areas to critique. Overall a very nice keeper.

I agree with bleirer on everything he said, plus, the focus could've been just a hair better or did you crop a lot? I'm also curious if this was handheld? Overall, I think it's a nice shot. Love the red bg.
