Wifey & I recently visited central FL and encountered these BG Gnatchatchers on a boardwalk in Gainesville.

Historically, these have been a "nemesis bird" for me, but these were more than tolerant of us.

Shot with D500's & 500PF's.

Thanks Ralph. Operative word there being "little". Lol!

Great shot of those nasty little spider killers! :)

Thank you Tom. Funny thing was that I didn't even see the spider while we were there. Normally, I wouldn't post an image with that much motion blur, but it was such a surprise to see him flipping a spider that I just had to.

I frequently have that experience when taking macro shots of insects and spiders. Often, while looking at the photos afterwards, I see other critters in the shots I had no idea were present. Usually little aphids, ants, etc. that completely escaped my notice while shooting and concentrating on getting the main subject. Makes for a nice surprise!

Great shots, especially number 1. Good job

Thanks Rip. #1 was my favorite too.

Awesome shots! And certainly a nemesis of mine too so I hope I can get some shots while in Florida later this month as well.

Thank you Frederic. I'm reasonably confident that was a one-time experience, as I've attempted to photograph them for years. Lol!

The first shot is beautiful! The rest are awesome as well. Was this at Sweetwater by chance? My grandfather lives in Gainesville and I've been eager to check it out next time I visit.

I appreciate it Turberticus. Yes, it was at Sweetwater. These guys were frequenting a clump of trees just past the covered area - take a left at the Y and there will be trees on both sides. This was the spot. We visited twice since we had so much fun the 1st time and these guys were there both days.

While you will see many small gators, I can assure you there are a couple BIG ones too. This fella was sunning next to a path we were walking. At this point, we turned around. Lol!!!
