Looked outside and saw a local heron with something very large in his beak: an unlucky chipmunk that had been scavenging under my bird feeder. The heron flew to the lake and dunked the chipmunk several times until it stopped moving then out of my view swallowed it whole.

Nice photos, great timing! I need a GBH around here to catch my demonrats. They are very destructive little critters and get away with it by being so cute.
