Just like this bobcat I'm curious. What elements in this image would you change or eliminate? The bottom right corner bugs me a little and I have tried using the content aware tool in photoshop but it never quite gets it right (well to me). There are other edits I've made purposely but hey this is the feedback forum. Info D850/500fp 320s f5.6 iso 800 Taken right at sunset this cat walked right up to check me out within the point of minimum focus distance. I dare not turn camera to vertical orientation as to spook it. The encounter was very cordial. Maybe its first human.

First off it's a wonderful picture. I think I would pull up the shadows of the face and pull down the highlights of the body. Either through the sliders or with the brush tool. The brightness of the body is kind of distracting. Also a 1x1 crop of the sides might help isolating the face.

Definitely bring down the highlights on his side... the white area lower right you can use the healing brush tool To get rid of... or just change the crop. I’d also brighten his right eye. Like @bsinc1962 said it’s a wonderful image. a lot to work with there!

Tremendous photo. Try it as a square crop or perhaps a vertical crop and definitely darken the hair on the chest and side. As gordon_g said, try lightning up the right side of the face, especially the eye. That's a photo that almost any of us would be very glad to get.

Great photo! All good ideas for processing, and this is what those suggestions might look like, courtesy of a few minutes with DxO PhotoLabs. It's hard to maintain the same contrast in the face, though, so it's a bit less dramatic but the attention will be more on the eyes and face rather than the body, I think.

Thanks for all the replies and edits very enlightening and interesting. I had actually picked, edited, printed and sold a couple of images from this set. This file was about to be deleted when I thought I'd see how AI handled it. I used Lightroom's Auto setting did a couple of tweaks and lifted the shadows from the right eye with LR brush (Woody and Gordon) > I spun too heavy on exposure comp before getting it dialed in so it was underexposed. I then gave it to Topaz Denoise on Auto once again. I also disliked the highlights and color down the side but ignored it and quickly tried to fix the bottom corner in PS Auto content aware but hated that result too. Anyways this artificial intelligence is getting very clever. Not much effort at all went into this and it is pretty close. Maybe will try to do an edit my way and post again BUT not tonight I've got a full card downloading from today and its nearly 9pm. Cheers Everyone!

I really like the face here. Hope it's ok I wanted to play with it a bit also. I got a little carried away I admit. In Denoise AI, LrC and Topaz Studio. Cropped 8x10 and adjust shadows in LR using ellipse tool, then adjust contrast, color and vignette in Topaz studio. It's a beautiful cat. I am sure I went to far though...lol

I agree with the portrait version. Would have been great if you could have gotten its 4 legs, but it must have been too close.

:D ha yes no worries I got a few frames with all of its limbs intact. Yes too close can be a problem I just wish I had that problem more often! I don't know the exact amount of time it was inside the minimum focus distance of the 500fp (9.8ft). I tried manual focus at that point with no success but in the end just lived in the moment until it backed off and slunk away. The whole event was pretty intense and I very slowly clicked off images so not to spook. Blessed.

Good grief what you all can do with low res jpegs is cool. I have attached a jpeg of the RAW file to see where it all started at. Cheers RB
