Greater Galago, previously Thicktailed Bushbaby, Otolemur crassicaudatus, Bosnagaap in the Mantuma rest camp in Mkhuze Game Reserve, Kwazulu/Natal, South Africa.
As it was getting darker I wandered around the camp trying to see if there were some bush babies - these guys are nocturnal and only come out of their dens after sunset. I spotted some movement on a tree trunk as a head was quickly pulled back! Bingo! I set up my tripod, wimberley head and bazooka with off-camera flash on a bracket set to the side of the lens. et the tree bark properly exposed. So I swapped to the 80-400 hand held, sneaked up closer and as he popped his head, got the first shot. Surreptitiously, there was a juicy beetle on a leave near him and he grabbed it and polished if off quite messily ~ then completed the feast with a good licking off of his chops.
