Out on an evening drive when we cane across a young jackal sitting on the side of the track, he soon was joined by another young male. Both seem totally unfazed at two interested onlookers eagerly pointing cameras at them from the vehicle. They were curious and approached us before undertaking a grooming session where it looked like some ticks or bugs were being sought out. Despite the close attention of one male to the ear of the other, the one being groomed kept a beady, if not a mildly interested view of us., They both sauntered off to our concern as they appeared to be behaving unusually and in a fairly remote area. Next morning we were relieved to see them both with their parents a few hundred meters off the track enjoying the morning sun.
