Bugs at the Pinhey Sand Dunes

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

In Ottawa we have ancient sand dunes left from a sea that existed here thousands of years ago. These old dunes host a variety of insect life, including the Ghost Tiger Beetle. This beetle is adapted to the high temperatures found in sand dunes.

I'll be posting various Pinhey bugs in this thread, starting with the ghost beetles. They are predatory. In the middle pic you can see it has caught a small bee.
