This borrow is on a strip of grass between busy San Marco Rd. and the sidewalk. The owl seems to ignore humans, unless they get too close. I was about 15 ft. away from it.
Thanks! I have the same lens as you, so it’s helpful for me to know what I can do with it later this year. Though I don’t have cool owls like those!

I just bought the lens in December. Indiana weather prevented me from getting out to use the lens much. Our trip to Florida gave me the opportunity to get out and test the lens out. I’m very pleased with its performance.
This was my first opportunity to see burrowing owls. This one was very cooperative.

I used the lens last summer, and I liked it a lot compared to my F mount 200-500! It's a great lens. I haven't had much chance to test it beyond 300mm.

Then for a trip I rented the Z 600 PF - WOW I loved that one. I'll get it at some point. For me it felt much lighter to hold.

Yep winter

I was torn between buying the 400 f/4.5 and the 180-600. The 400 was significantly lighter we. It was also $1000 more. I opted for the versatility of the zoom

You sound just like me, cost & versatility. A member here convinced me to try the 600, and it's much lighter etc, that part of it I love!! Like you, cost! I'm sure I'll get it at some point though!

400 is not large enough for me. I rent a z100-400 for certain trips, along w/the 600- so far that worked perfectly regarding flexibility.
