First photo is a skipper butterfly on a Zinnia flower. Second is the larval stage of either milkweed bug or milkweed beetles. Will have to wait a week to be sure. I think these are milkweed bugs. Kind of creepy to see so many but they are part of the life cycle of milkweed plants.
