Shot these last year at the Ladd S. Gordon Waterfowl Complex, which turned out to have more than birds than Bosque del Apache. Nikon D500 and Nikon 200-500. I liked them in BW as well as in color. Bosque is open this year except for the visitor center and I don't think they are charging to get in at this point. I can't go this time as I have a back surgery scheduled and I don't think I'll be able to be as active as I'd need to be. In the past, twice, I've gone in December. It's a wonderful experience and if you have not done this trip you might consider it. I stay in Socorro, which is about 30 minutes or so from the refuges, either one, Gordon is to the north and Bosque is to the south. December is generally considered prime time for the most birds but I'm sure that varies from year to year to some degree. Processed in LrC and PS, not cropped.
