The CA Central Valley wildlife refuges usually provide sufficient opportunities to photograph Egrets, Herons, Cormorants, various ducks (Pintails and Shovelers [Shovelers are one of my favorites] among them), sometimes Sandhill Cranes, but good shots of those are difficult to find in the area (unlike Bosque del Apache or Ladd Gordon in New Mexico). Also White-fronted geese, Snow geese and Ross's geese and other types of ducks. I've included one funny shot just for laughs.
Enjoy!
