I was hiking in to a bog this morning with z9 & 600mm PF when I got ambushed by a group of Canada Jays. They kept landing within the minimum focus distance, so I had to keep back peddling as I shot. One even landed on my head.

Great shots of one of my favorite birds. Every birder needs to meet them. They will find you !
The first time I discovered them was one hovering a few feet in front of me like, what you got for me?
I always have a few peanuts or something in my pocket for them if Im up north.
How can not admire a bird that lays its eggs in the winter. Up north.
