Along the Auob road in the Kgalagadi, October 2022 - this is normally the time when you can expect the new season's baby animals to be born.
We were lucky to find a den with a Cape Fox and her puppy in attendance. He was very small, maybe a week after his eyes had opened. He still wobbled when he walked and nose-dived often into the sand. I shot him about a week later again and he could even jump-up against mom by this time. They have very large ears, but still small on the puppy.
