Charging Nikon z9 battery’s in safari truck

If you would like to post, you'll need to register. Note that if you have a BCG store account, you'll need a new, separate account here (we keep the two sites separate for security purposes).

I’m off on safari soon and I know the trucks we are using have usb charging points but was wondering what cable I would need for a Nikon z9 charger to be able to keep my battery’s charged,or does anyone know a better method for on the go charging?
Many thanks Chris Prince

Hello. I believe a normal USB cable would do the job. If the truck's port is USB-A, you probable need a USB-C to USB-A Standard Type A Male to Male cable.
As alternative, you could take a power bank and keep the camera connected to it when needed.

Probably won’t work unless the truck has PD (power delivery) battery support. Guessing not. Bring your own PD battery back. We always travel with one in case we get stuck somewhere. Just make sure any cable you buy is rated for PD.
That said if you have a spare battery unlikely you will need to recharge.

As an aside my travel charging kit is pretty simple - one PD batter and two Anker 735’s. The 735’s have 3 ports - two USB C and one A. They can charge computers, phones etc.

Several airlines have limits on the capacity of back-up PD power packs.

Two Z9 batteries should be more than enough for a single day.

Mains charging overnight is reasonably straightforward at lodges but not necessarily available in tented camps.
