This female cheetah killed a springbok 10 m away from our vehicle @ KijKIj. She was as thin as a plank. This 1st image was taken @ 09:21, the second @ 14:59 after she alone consumed half the springbok. The first image was taken after she had rested from the exertion of the kill when she came back to pull the springbok into the shade of a nearby tree.

Fantastic set of images Callie.
Glad She was able to find some much needed nourishment.
Happy trails.

WOW!
She looks pitiful in that first image. That meal really filled her out!

I agree with Karen - WOW! Amazing how much she could pack away. (I think I look like photo #2 after every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner...)
Gonna have to sleep that buffet off for sure. Nice juxtaposition.

Great work, Callie. Makes me think of the San people after a kill... Moet die riempie losmaak.....
Nice! From emaciated to full!
Karen and guys
Thank you so much. We really enjoyed this encounter. From seeing the kill, up to here, just wonderful!

Excellent set, Callie. She looks so much better with a full tummy. It's a good thing no hyenas came around to steal it away from her.
Kirk Yes, we were on the lookout too. Apparently, late afternoon, some lion rob her, but by that time I think she was so stuffed that it was no loss anymore.
