I saw Steve mention he uses this product so I picked up a can. I’m curious how do you use it to clean the lens and camera contacts without ruining anything?

Like above, I make a small cup out of aluminum foil, spray some in the "cup" and dip a q tip and apply. You have to watch for debris from the cotton swab and sometimes I'll use a cotton handkerchief instead of the qtip. I let it sit for a while and then buff with a cotton cloth to remove any excess.

I use a lint free cloth over the end of a cotton bud (qtip?) that has been sprayed with with ispropyl alcohol, the cotton bud forms a reservoir for the alcohol to keep the cloth damp.
Bud may need a regular top up of alcohol, it evaporates quickly.
Work in good light, take your time, no rush.
Carefully clean all small contacts, camera/s, lens/es, TC/s etc, move to a new clean spot on the cloth regularly, immediately move to a clean spot if any dirt appears on cloth, if a lot of dirt appears you may need to do the clean a couple of times.
Also clean the metal mating surfaces as above, these from part of the electrical circuit.
Let dry, carefully wipe all contacts with another clean part of the lint free cloth or a new cloth, reassemble, test.
