We went to a local ridge in our area where a friend told me I could get a decent foreground in our well-populated area. This is my first try at comets. I have a lot to learn, shooting and processing, but it's fun.
Hopefully, more forum members will post theirs, I've enjoyed the ones so far.

I'm in the Bay Area, so same time zone as you. We found it was best about an hour after sunset. Look for Venus, then to the right and up. It was visible to the naked eye after stars started to be visible. As it got darker, the brightness of the comet diminished, perhaps due to how the sunlight hits it in space, I don't know.
Binoculars actually gave us the best views. I tried with my spotting scope and with longer focal length lenses, but the best seemed to be about 16mm to 35mm. Longer shutter speeds didn't improve my photos, but I'm new to astro.
Good luck!
