Common Cuckoo, Cuculus canorus, Europese Koekoek ~ Rarely, the plumage of the adult female Common Cuckoo is a rufous brown as shown in the image, known as "hepatic phase" ~ refers to the colour of liver. Southern Kruger NP. These birds migrate from Europe to Africa during our summer.
