Been wanting to photograph a Kingfisher all year and finally this week I had the opportunity to visit a place I knew I'd see one.
Lighting wasn't great, the pond was shaded by trees so I had to work in fairly restrictive lighting and knowing I'd end up cropping the images I kept iso as low as possible so that I could retain some detail in post.
This was shot at 1/80th f5.6 200iso using a Nikon D500 and 200-500mm handheld!
