He actually has a scalped downy woodpecker in his talons, but people don't seem to care for that much nature in a nature photo so cropped it down and Gigapixel'd it.

Very nice. A young or immature Cooper’s Hawk with a yellow eye. Adults have a reddish eye.

I had a similar experience, but couldn't get a shot. I was working from home due to Covid at my bedroom desk. We have a deck off the bedroom with a door wall access. The deck isn't very deep and an immature Cooper's landed on the rail with a bird in its right talons. My phone was my only option and I could only get it half way up before the guy took off. Glad you got that shot and shared it with us.
Nice image. I actually like a looser crop than the original post, either the portrait or perhaps a roughly half frame landscape mode shot. It's a beautiful bird!
