Customing Record button on Nikon Z 8

Hi, I have customised the Record button on my Nikon Z 8 to Cycle AF Mode when shooting still images.
I am not able to record video in the Video recording mode when I press the record button.
I believe we can customise buttons for different functions in Still image and Video recording modes.
Can someone help me resolve the issue ? I am surprised that I am unable to customise the Video record button to shoot video. 😁

double check that it was the shooting custom control that you set, and not the video shooting control.
if nothing else, Save Settings then RESET.
check the video record button works correctly BEFORE you reload settings, check again that you set the custom control to shooting not video.
Thanks Patrick. I tried the way you had suggested but it didn't work.

Make sure that you have turned the Photo/Video switch to "Video". I have both of my Z8s RECORD button set to the "cycle through the AF modes". Works all the time, but I rarely use video. I did check to see if switched to VIDEO the button would turn record off and on. You may need to look at your Custom Settings "g" video settings to make sure you have the button set to RECORD function in g2.

Thanks Rogereh.
Got it.

Not sure of your other settings, but I also have the video record button on my Z8 set to cycle AF area modes, and when I switch to video the video record button does work to start and stop recording, so it should work that way. Ken
Thanks FastGlassGuy for your response. I have things working as they should after making the changes suggested by Rogereh. I must have fumbled things up earlier.
