D4 to D5, back to D4.

I mentioned on another thread I liked to experiment with equipment. :) I had a D4 that I loved, but the D5 should be better, right?

Wrong. IQ suffered, could never get the metering to my satisfaction and I didn't like the button layout. S0, back to a D4 and loving it.

Also replaced my D610 backup with a D500. I had tried the D500 before but didn't like the lowlight performance. I wanted to get more reach out of my 200-500mm so decided to give it another try. Now I think with the pair I have the best of both worlds. Here is an image at full zoom from this morning with the D500 and the 200-500.

Lovely shot - and encouraging after just having taken the fun ride back to 16.x MPixel.
But the way the bird looks at you, (s)he must have preferred to be shot with a D5 .

Before @Steve asks: Did you have to crop ;).
