This is the money shot many of us try to capture. It takes knowledge in predicting the moment the Pelican commits to the dive and then the skill to time the panning shot. The Z9 makes it easier with 20 FPS and focus tracking but you will still end up missing the time the Pelican makes contact with the water.

Nicely done. Yes it is harder than one might think for something that looks to be moving slowly to the naked eye. Not to mention all of the other variables that have to come together. Birds fishing in camera range, direction of lighting, not too much wind....
