Denali (Mount McKinley) is the highest peak in North America, towering to 20,310 feet. Weather grows around the mountain, making it typically very difficult to see because it's covered in clouds most of the time. One evening, we lucked out! My wife and I and fellow travelers returned to Dinali park late, around 11:00 PM. The sun had just set, and the moon was rising. For the first time in many days, the mountain was not obscured by clounds, and instead was lit by the most beautiful burnt orange sky. To top it all off, a crecent moon beckoned was rising. I'll not forget this moment!

When I was there it was indeed covered by clouds (though I got a nice moody shot of the base). This shot is fantastic. Was the moon naturally in that position and size in the viewfinder, or did you move it and/or enlarge it?

I did not enlarge or relocate the moon.. it was living large and really was positioned where you see it. Many thanks for your review!

We were there in 2018 and had 1 day when the mountain was visible but it was around noon. Your photo is indeed beautiful. What a great memory.
