Over here it's quite warm outside and the Dice snakes (water snakes) / Natrix tessellata come out relax in the sun:

I think it is the first time I got one that would sit still for capture... usually they slither and hide away.... And I am not tempted to search for venomous ones .

Unless snakes curl up nicely for you I think snakes are difficult to photograph. You did an excellent job on these!

I don't think I ever saw one of these curled up... they like to spread as long as they can. It was hard to decide how much of the snake to crop, as trying to fit it whole in an image would end up with the subject occupying too little part of it.
