My wife and I were watching a small flock of Cedar Waxwings going after wild grapes that had grown up an oak tree. They were devouring the grapes with gusto. However, a few grapes didn't pass inspection and were tossed aside. I have a couple sequences like this of a waxwing picking a grape, tossing it to the ground and going after another one. Kind of interesting. While I didn't see it, I'm sure chipmunks, mice, and other forest floor mammals will scurry along eating the dropped grapes. Nothing in nature goes to waste.

hope y'all enjoy the sequence.

They are interesting birds. I have on several occasions observed a group of 3-4 sit on a branch in a line and play pass the berry, usually Hawthorn berries. It is quite comical to watch. They pass it from one bird to the next down the line and back again.

interesting. I haven't seen them do that but it is fun to watch them all fly into a tree with berries, strip it clean and move to the next one.
