Dimpled Trout Lily (Erythronium umbilicatum ssp. umbilicatum), sometimes called "dog-tooth violets", are among the earliest wildflowers to bloom in the spring. Flowers ~ 1/2 long.

Pretty windy today so composite images have some movement artifacts.

They will be blooming here in Kentucky in a couple weeks. I can't wait. Also love the white ones as well as the yellow ones. One of my favorite wildflowers.
 
Great individual closeup shots. Always look forward to seeing these help announce Spring. Larger clusters are great fun showing off the leaf patterns as well.
