Does the Forum have a thread/area where we can post enhancement requests for future (firmeware) updates?

Hi,
I think of this as we might collect these requests and someone empowered (Steve?!) can pass our requests from the field to the gear manufacturers.
Curious about your opinion on that.

Threads like that have started here in General Photography Discussion before.

I wouldn’t expect miracles though as manufacturers have their own processes for product design and Steve is one voice out of many. Still it can be interesting for folks to list their product feature want lists as long as it doesn’t descend into general brand bashing about how some brand sucks because it doesn’t do exactly what you want.

Manufacturers don't really pay attention to forum posts that much, at least it doesn't seem that way. I've also (sort of ) hounded Nikon on different features and my success rate isn't great. I'm still begging for Zebras in still mode - although I did get Cycle AF Areas :) (Although, the be fair, I'm not sure if that was from my nagging or something they were just going to do anyway.)

To add this Nikon Z9 wishlist is from over 2 years ago. There have been welcome updates and additional features added in Firmwares since.

However, several requests are still in limbo. A switch for Subject Detection should be simple, equally exposure zebras for Stills and more than 1 Recall Shooting Functions per Bank..... And Spot metering hold is still MIA for the Z9 after being standard in earlier Nikon ILCs, and available in the Z6 III, Zf and other current Nikon cameras.

Also often requested fixes to be able to change a pair of Shooting and Custom banks with a single command, and how more control over how the Banks save settings etc etc

We have got RSF as a great possibility to toggle between two subject detection modes.
If I had just one wish, it is this:
As Steve is begging for Zebras in still mode, I am begging for Recall Shooting Function(RSF) in video mode to toggle between animal and bird detection also there:)
Both should be doable within firmware.

I have sent my wish list to Nikon. Please be reasonable and think through all requests so that they will have broad appeal. A 14-200 F/2.8 lens will get ignored and may get all your suggestions tossed. look at previous threads to get an idea of what others want
